Now this was a wedding that is dear to my heart!
I met Vicky and her husband Lee 3 years ago and we hit it off straight away. They have a knack for welcoming people into their lives and we share a love of travelling, cups of tea and a good gossip.
Vicky had really struggled to find a dress as she really wanted to limit her budget. She had tried on gowns in 3 different countries until she decided to get one tailor designed. Vicky ended up at Luomo in Paddington and was delighted with their creation. The empire line of the dress was super flattering and the flowing fabric allowed for some pretty big dance moves later on in the night.
They chose to get married up in the hinterland near Byron Bay at a venue called Figtree. It was truly a magical affair. I think out of 55 guests, 45 had travelled from the UK…it meant there was a BIG party vibe. Photographer Luke Going captured the fun and I think he ended up staying a lot later than intended as he was enjoying himself so much!
I absolutely LOVE doing the makeup for friend's weddings. I feel honoured to be a part of their special day and to put my little stamp on what I know is already going to be a perfect day. Vicky was after a very natural look with the subtle inclusion of pink. She really wanted to make sure that her freckles didn’t disappear after a mask-ful of makeup. Her only other request was lashes to accentuate her eyes, they looked big and beautiful….and thank goodness for water-proof products, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
One of my favourite blog and magazines called Hello May featured Lee & Vicky's wedding recently. Vicky + Lee
